Organize Windows XP for BEST & FAST Performance

Disk Defragmenter:

  • After fresh Windows Installation always first run Disk Defragmenter
  • Go to Start >> All Programs >> Accessories >> System Tools >> Disk Defragmenter

Display Settings:

  • Now Right Click on Desktop and Click on Properties
  • Go to Appearance Tab and click on Effects Button
  • Uncheck all check boxes from Effects Window
  • Click Ok Button then Apply and Ok Button…

Startup Settings:

  • Now Go to Start and Click on Run (ÿ+R)
  • Type “msconfig” in Run Window and strike Enter


  • System Configuration Utility Window Appears as snapshot below
  • Select Startup tab and review all available entries
  • Uncheck unnecessary entries except antivirus and required software which you need to execute in windows startup

  • All Available Entries can be disabled and modify at any stage so don’t worry if you have any confusion
  • Click on Apply button and then Ok to close System Configration Utility Window

  • System ask for Restart, it is recommended to restart your window for applying new effects

  • After Restart Window shows following alert message, Just enable check box and click OK

Setting Up Best Performance:

  • Now Right Click on My Computer and Click Properties
  • Go to Advanced Tab and Click on Settings button under Performance Section
  • In Performance Window click on Adjust for best performance Radio Button
  • Now Check Last Three entries and Click Ok then Apply and Ok
